We are pleased to announce Tor’s acquisition of a new romantic fantasy duology from author Rachelle Raeta. The Peaches & Honey Duology—These Immortal Truths and These Godly Lies—is a moving story about a girl who is gifted immortality and must now learn to do more than merely survive—she must learn to live. The deal was brokered by Emily Sacks at Creative Artists Agency for English language rights; North America (US, Phil, Can, Open Market); print, ebook, and audio. Both novels will be available from Tor in Summer 2026.

Both epic and intimate, These Immortal Truths is a powerful and romantic historical fantasy that explores not only what it means to live forever, but what it means to live fully.

A shapeshifting god. A divine peach. And a woman gifted with forever.

Anna is used to hunger and hardship. Ever since the pale shadows on her skin were mistaken for leprosy, she has lived alone in exile, each day focused only on survival.

Then a single act of kindness towards a beautiful stranger changes her life forever.

Suddenly, her body is as untouched by time as it is by harm, and Anna experiences a new freedom she has never known. But as decades and centuries pass, the lives of everyone she meets slip through her fingers like grains of sand… everyone, except Khiran—the shapeshifting god who gave her immortality. No matter the years or distance, she trusts that he will always return.

Yet there is more to immortality than Anna knows, and as she travels the ages, she will discover the beauty—and danger—of a life without end.

From author Rachelle Raeta:

“I am beyond thrilled that this duology has found a home at Tor! Working with Aislyn has been an absolute dream and I feel so fortunate to partner with an editor who understands the core of these books while still inspiring me to make them shine brighter. This story is very much one of the heart—a love letter to those whose strength lies in their empathy and compassion. I hope that the givers and the helpers of the world can recognize a bit of themselves in these pages and see themselves for the heroes they are.”

From Aislyn Fredsall, Associate Editor at Tor:

“When I first read These Immortal Truths and These Godly Lies, I was so immediately enchanted that I had to clear my schedule for the day so that I could just get lost in the story. Rachelle’s writing is transportive and beautiful, sucking the reader right into history alongside Anna and Khiran (and their incredible centuries-long slow burn!), and it’s so powerful to see how Anna learns to do more than merely survive but truly live. This is the type of story that reminds you what it is to find beauty in a world that can sometimes be so ugly, and I’m so honored that Rachelle has entrusted it to Tor.”

Rachelle Raeta was born and raised in Northern California where she spent her youth participating in 4-H and fighting for her life trying to ride (a particularly stubborn) horse past the apple tree. These days, she loves writing heart tugging stories that use magical elements to highlight the human ones. When she isn’t agonizing over word choices, she’s usually reading, drowning in home projects, or playing with yarn. She is a Trigiminal Neuralgia survivor and believes in living your best life day by day.
